Club Service

The Club Service Avenue promotes the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service. It involves the logistical and operational support activities necessary to make the Club function successfully and achieve its goals. Club Service is perhaps the least understood Avenue of Service, but in many ways, it is the fundamental building block of a successful Rotary Club. Without the organization and fellowship of the Club, none of the other Avenues of Service could be consistently or successfully accomplished.

Three main components of our Club Service include:

Weekly Meetings and Programs

Rotary Club of Red Lodge weekly meetings include lunch and a program. Meetings are held at 12 noon on Thursdays at the Bridge Creek Backcountry Kitchen and Wine Bar in Red Lodge. The program usually consists of a speaker who informs and/or entertains Club members and guests. Speakers come from non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private business as well as other levels of Rotary International. At recent meetings, Jeff Ewelt, Director of the Beartooth Nature Center, introduced us to one of his raptor boarders and Mark Brajcich, Superintendent of Red Lodge Public Schools, provided us with a tour of the new Red Lodge High School.

Annual Picnic and Fellowship

Spring Picnic

Each year, in late spring or early summer and sometimes coinciding with our two miles of US Highway 212 Adopt a Highway clean up project, the Club members and their families get together for a picnic at Rotary Park in Red Lodge. Participants enjoy tasting new salads and desserts as well as the fellowship of getting together in the beautiful mountain setting of Red Lodge.

Winter Holiday Party and Auction

In December, the Club hosts a festive holiday party for members and their guests. During the evening, in addition to a special meal, handmade items, baked goods, donated artwork and even donated trips or services are auctioned off to attendees. The proceeds from the auction are directed to a variety of Rotary Programs.
